Trunk Networks partners with Brocade to future-proof network infrastructure
A longstanding Brocade customer, Trunk’s existing network was made up of NetIron CER compact routers and ICX stackable switches, which had been in place for several years. The new, chosen solution involved replacing half the network with the Brocade MLX Series core routers, and enhancing the remaining NetIron CERs in some sites with 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interfaces, interconnected across the entire estate. Trunk Networks has been able to dramatically increase its bandwidth capacity and provide greater speed and performance for its hosted, cloud and ISP services.
Brocade Unveils the Industry's First IP Storage Switch for EMC Connectrix
EMC customers will deploy the new switch to separate IP storage traffic from other data traffic, a more reliable and efficient approach compared to legacy deployments where storage traffic and all other network traffic share the same network infrastructure.
Brocade Announces Its Intent to Acquire the Assets of Riverbed Technology's SteelApp Business
The New IP, a datacenter-centric IT revolution, is changing the rules of how network infrastructure is designed and provisioned. One of the key trends within the New IP is NFV (Network Functions Virtualization), the conversion of network elements from hardware to virtualized software. The ADC product segment is one of the earliest to make this transition; Dell'Oro reports the nearly $2B ADC market is in the throes of the NFV disruption, with virtual ADCs growing 30% CAGR vs only 1% for hardware ADCs.
Brocade Advances Data Center Agility With New VCS Fabric Portfolio Enhancements
The automated approach to Brocade VDX switch deployment and operations extends beyond native VCS capabilities. Customers can seamlessly integrate a Brocade VDX network infrastructure with the rest of their data center ecosystem through advanced programmability, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and virtualization support, cloud orchestration, and DevOps integration. As a result, customers can operate their data centers more holistically, accelerate innovation and ensure that network resources are readily available and automatically provisioned as new services are deployed.
Wing Cloud Builds State-of-the-Art Data Center on Brocade Cloud Networking Foundation
"It is critical for us to provide advanced data center technology that is both efficient and environmentally friendly to win local, national and international customers", said Ning Xu, CEO of Guizhou Wing Cloud High Technology Ltd. "Brocade's Ethernet fabric architecture made it easy and cost-effective to scale out the data center network to eventually support more than 10,000 servers. It also provided support for SDN and NFV technology, which will need to be deployed as we scale our public and private cloud services".
Brocade Enables Pervasive Data Privacy Across Public and Private Cloud Deployments for the New IP
It's common knowledge among IT teams that adding security devices severely impacts application performance and employee productivity, forcing difficult decisions that can put the business, as well as employees and customers, at risk.
Brocade Vyatta Controller Eliminates Vendor Lock-In Enabling Customers to Deliver Network Innovations for the New IP
To promote the development of innovative network applications, Brocade also announced the Brocade Vyatta Controller Developer Edition, which provides a comprehensive set of tools -- including templates, libraries, and testing environments -- to help developers quickly write and test SDN applications and easily deploy them into service. The Brocade Vyatta Controller is free of proprietary extensions, so developers can be assured that their applications will run on any other OpenDaylight-based controller. In addition, developers retain full intellectual property rights to the applications they build.
DDNS Group Ramps New Information Brokers Business on Brocade Network
"We had 10 Gig Ethernet switches in place but were experiencing packet loss across the network, which was causing storage timeouts. After discussions with MYCOM, we made the decision to investigate the migration to a high-performance, low-latency platform," said DDNS Group CEO Rod Keys. "We looked at what the major vendors had to offer, but only Brocade and its partner MYCOM would let us do a proof-of-concept and stress test their solution over a 30-day period. As a business that operates on a model of service before price, that's something we really appreciated."
