Ruckus Wireless And Brocade Deliver Gigabit Class Smart Wi-fi To Chico Unified And Souderton Area School Districts
The Chico USD network includes over 400 Ruckus ZoneFlex™ indoor and outdoor access points (APs), including the industry’s first to ship 802.11ac Wave 2 access point, the RUCKUS ZONEFLEX R710, providing coverage for the District’s classrooms and offices, in addition to its stadiums, parking lots and sports fields. The wireless network is managed by RUCKUS ZONEDIRECTOR™ controllers to enable simple, secure mobility with very high availability. Brocade ICX® switches connect the APs, and with link aggregation, can support up to 2 Gbps backhaul from the Ruckus ZoneFlex R710 APs to meet the most extreme network demands.
Fujitsu, Intel, And Brocade To Transform City College Coventry And Put Technology At The Heart Of Education
The hub has been designed to provide an engaging environment for existing students, as well as encouraging new students to enroll in technology courses. The facility has been equipped to optimise learning, with large display screens and advanced networking equipment that can be used for demonstrations and practical sessions. The facility has been fitted with a wide range of Fujitsu and Intel hardware, including workstations, tablets, and laptops, as well as a PRIMEFLEX VSHAPE solution that is pre-integrated with Brocade networking technologies to help the college consolidate and virtualise its current IT infrastructure and deliver a future-proof solution to meet modern demands.
Brocade Brings Network Magic To The Jim Henson Company
Founded in 1955, and headquartered behind the walls of the historic Charlie Chaplin lot in Los Angeles, The Jim Henson Company relies on engineers and artists who have been exploring new ways to take puppetry to the next level. The Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, an Emmy Award-winning proprietary technology from Jim Henson's Creature Shop, features a workstation with advanced simulation capabilities driven by the Company's own animation software engine. The workstation uses a joystick and a digital glove, enabling puppeteers to manipulate a digital puppet exactly like they would a physical puppet. This setup allows puppeteers to perform virtual characters within a real-time animation studio environment that completely replicates a three-camera, live-action shoot.
Brocade Analytics Monitoring Platform Enables Organizations To Achieve Greater ROI For Mission-critical Applications
Monitoring and analyzing IT infrastructure performance has been a complex, time-consuming task that requires complete end-to-end network knowledge to optimize application performance. Typically, IT staff have had two alternatives -- manual methods that use Excel spreadsheets, or expensive automated tools that add complexity, expose the network to security risks, and require application and network outages during the installation, configuration, and tuning process. The new Brocade solution represents a much simpler design and deployment architecture that is superior to these traditional alternatives.
Brocade Expands OEM Relationship With Lenovo
Brocade Gen 5 Fibre Channel storage area networking (SAN) switches are now being sold globally by Lenovo and its network of channel partners, in addition to embedded Fibre Channel and VCS Ethernet fabric switches that are available in solutions for all Lenovo x86-based servers. Brocade fixed-port SAN switches integrate flawlessly into Lenovo's server and storage solutions, including the recently announced Lenovo Storage S2200 AND S3200 SAN ARRAYS. Additionally, the Brocade switches have completed qualification testing for seamless interoperability with these new storage offerings.
Skilled Group Creates Always-on It Infrastructure With Innovative Brocade Network Fabric Design
Skilled Group uses Ethernet fabrics based on Brocade VDX® switches and VCS® Fabric technology to connect its primary data center to a secondary site 30 kilometers away. The Brocade VDX switches create a virtualized infrastructure that provides failover and IP replication services to the Brocade Gen 5 Fibre Channel SANs within each location. This approach helps ensure a highly resilient foundation between servers and a broad array of EMC high-end and midrange storage systems.
Brocade And CERN OpenLab Collaborate On SDN Network Evolution
Brocade will be collaborating with CERN openlab on a new solution designed to help the organization address the long-term challenges facing its network infrastructure. Due to the nature of the research carried out by CERN, the organization generates extremely large data volumes and therefore needs an efficient, scalable, and flexible network in order to handle traffic spikes. The project with Brocade is intended to create a future-proof network based on the New IP and featuring a framework of SDN applications to optimize the routing of data traffic entering and leaving the organization. Brocade will also create enhanced user interfaces for its solutions, giving collaborators at CERN the ability to view graphical charts and visualizations showing real-time and historical traffic information.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University Selects Brocade For Next-generation Network Backbone
"We operate a large and complex network that has to reliably deliver services to tens of thousands of wired and wireless devices across our campuses," said Rui Xie, director of Network Information at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. "We've been using Brocade MLX Series routers in our backbone for the last nine years and they've proved to be very robust, so when it came time to select a new generation of infrastructure we looked at Brocade first. The Brocade MLXe routers we recently deployed have enabled us to cut network management costs by 50 percent while increasing core network performance 10 times. They provide us with a solid pathway, based on open standards, into the world of SDN."
Brocade SDN Solutions Drive Virtutel Toward The New IP
Since the beginning of 2014, Virtutel has entered the New Zealand market, opened a second office in Sydney, and established a Point-of-Presence (PoP) site in Los Angeles. In January 2015, it also went live with a Singapore PoP. Within Australia the company is looking to meet customer needs in non-traditional rollout cities, such as Darwin and Hobart, while its international growth plans include Hong Kong, India, and potentially the United Kingdom.
